Founded in 1872 by Adam Ludwig Föbus, the original blacksmith workshop became a nationally and internationally operating manufacturer for special nails. sparked by the clos contact with the neighboring company "Baroper-Hütte" foundry , the product range was expanded with core supports and cooling materials for the foundry industry.

In the second generation, Ludwig Föbus quickly became known as a foundry supply specialist nationally and internationally through numerous groundbreaking inventions. In 1920, the company was awarded an honorary diploma by the German iron foundry industry.

At the peak of the mining and steel industry, Föbus developed into the European market leader for core support and cooling materials, before the company was ultimately expanded into a supplier of the full range of foundry supplies. Continuous product developments were added, many of which are still used every day in foundries around the world today.

Today, in the fourth generation, we use the industry knowledge we have acquired over many decades to support our customers all over the world not only with the existing product range but with our eagerness to innovate.
